I am pushed farther than I would go on my own without hurting myself. I have many prior injuries from broken bones, and from swimming, and Michelle expertly works around them. Additionally I do not like working out, so having a set schedule with someone keeps me accountable. The most helpful thing about training with Michelle is that I get very good workouts, but I never feel pressured to do more than I can handle.
You won’t find wild and trendy workouts here but you will find an evidence-based movement system. That’s because strength training serves you best when you continue to return to its roots by mastering the basics.
It’s not always shiny and new, but these workouts will help you build a strong foundation for your favorite hobbies, your current lifestyle, and boost strength gains in the gym. Safely, effectively, and efficiently.
Every exercise will be accompanied by a modification (a lower intensity option) and a progression (a higher intensity option). These can serve you in multiple ways! Modifications are great when you’re new to a movement, working with a limitation, or more tired than usual. Progressions are great when you’re ready to advance a movement, need a greater challenge, or want to try a different variation. There’s a time and a place for both, for everyone!
This program gives you a good mix of receiving accountability from your coach (me) and taking responsibility for your fitness. You no longer have to guess if you’re doing the right thing, leaving more room for you to practice showing up for yourself and getting it done.
Your fitness journey is best when it’s an autonomous one, meaning you’re in the driver’s seat. As your coach, I am here to provide you support and guidance as you build a balanced movement routine yourself.
The More Than Strength workouts are a tried and true method for strength training progress. Strength training workouts typically use the same 15-20 movements, just in different forms and variations. That’s because we train movements, not muscles, in order to keep us strong for daily life.
Since 2014, and with hundreds of clients of all different ages, body types, and fitness levels, I’ve found that there’s not much difference in how we train! These workouts utilize the same structure and movements that I have used daily with my clients for years, and I am so excited to make them accessible to you!
It’s the best way to train when you don’t want to spend all your time in the gym! When we train 3 days a week, full body workouts give us the most bang for our buck.
I highly recommend you have at least two sets of dumbbells (one light pair and one heavy pair), some resistance bands, and some sort of box or chair for step ups, single leg squats, etc.
Every workout in the True Coach app requires you to check off each exercise as you complete it and then hit a “complete” button to finish the workout. You will receive an email every time you miss a workout, and I will also be notified! It’s certainly not the same as someone standing over you, but I will still know if you’re skipping workouts.
If you select Monthly, you will be charged via Square 24 hours before the new month starts. You can cancel at any time!
